The comprehensive development of the agricultural sector is important as one of the main directions of increasing the reliability of the country's food security, diversifying the economy, expanding its export potential. In order to ensure sustainable development of the agricultural sector in the Republic of Azerbaijan, a new insurance mechanism was created, which regulates relations related to risk insurance through the joint insurance mechanism, and defines the legal, economic and organizational framework for agricultural insurance. The article compares previously used and new mechanisms and analyzes the changes made in the agricultural sector.
