The study is devoted to the main features of the compilation of soil maps on the basis of “Traditional” and “Aerospace data”. The soil cards submitted by traditional methods have to be estimated as gold fund. However, though these materials are very significant for the time, they not completely meet the requirements of today. So, the accelerated development of territories – carrying out meliorative works, establishment of collector and drainage systems and reservoirs, transformation of agricultural grounds, extension of housing points, creation of lines of communication, etc., leading to constant use of modern space materials and programs, a geographic information system is the requirement today's, for drawing up accurate soil maps.
