Innovative potential of agricultural development and assessment of the environment for its implementation

In the modern era, when innovation has become a decisive factor in the efficiency and competitiveness of the agricultural sector, the study of innovative potential and the characteristics of the environment for its implementation are of particular importance. The article reveals the essence of the potential for innovative development of the agricultural sector and gives the characteristics of the environment for its implementation. The innovative potential of the industry was assessed and various approaches to characterizing the environment for realizing this potential were compared. The possibilities of using the advantages of the digital environment in realizing the potential of innovative development in the agricultural sector have been investigated. Research shows that rural aging, farm size, multifunctionality and pandemic drivers play an important role in realizing the innovation potential in the agricultural sector.
The article reveals the possibilities of realizing the innovative potential of the agricultural sector and shows the directions for realizing these opportunities.
