Analysis of risk propensity factors in the production of lemons in Lankaran region

The agricultural sector is a strategic sector for the nutrition and employment of citizens all over the world and for the development of countries. It is considered a sensitive and strategic sector all over the world due to its natural production conditions. There are many risk factors in the agricultural sector that play an important economic and social role. This article examines the factors influencing the behavior of farmers growing lemons in the Lankaran region of Azerbaijan. To this end, a survey was conducted among 270 lemon producers in the study area. It was determined that 45.7% of producers are risk averse, 28.5% are risk neutral and 25.8% are risk averse. When analyzing the obtained data, an The Sequential Probit Model was used. The factors influencing the behavior of producers in the face of risks arising from the production of lemon are determined. The results of the study can help manufacturers make the right decisions at the right time.
