History, current state and prospects of development of sheep breeding in Azerbaijan

The presented article examines the importance of sheep farming for human society, the benefits of lamb, the current state of sheep farming in the world, as well as the countries that are world leaders in the production of lamb and wool. Detailed information is also provided on the current situation of sheep breeding in Azerbaijan, the number and breeds of sheep, and current problems and obstacles in this area are highlighted. In conclusion, a number of proposals were made for the development of sheep breeding in Azerbaijan.
