As global warming and its impacts increase, a number of international organizations including the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) have developed a number of standards, specifications, and guidelines to minimize these impacts. These documents consist of 29 standards in the ISO 14000 and 14060 series which we can conditionally call “green”. The presented article focuses only on those standards that are directly related to environmental protection in enterprises and organizations, inventorying greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), calculating the carbon footprint of products, and designing appropriate measures. The place and importance of these standards in combating global warming and its impacts are examined. Moreover, recommendations are given on responses to the challenges faced by the agricultural sector during the formation of carbon markets.
