This article examines the environmental impact of agricultural machinery and its role in increasing food production and improving working conditions. It is shown that as tractor energy efficiency increases, the percentage of engine power used during operation decreases, making it extremely difficult, and in some cases impossible, to select the speed and load modes of the machinetractor unit (MTU) that ensure full utilization of engine power. A comprehensive analysis is provided of the impact of the field, soil, tractor dynamics, and the interaction of the implement or working element with the soil on the technological capabilities of the electro-hydraulic hitch system, which ensures the efficient use of tractor engine power in the MTU.
