AbstractDetermining the prospects for the development of self-employment in the agricultural sector involves the characterization of many different factors. The presented article examines the issues of assessing self-employment opportunities from the point of view of supporting positive trends in the structure of employment and the level of employment in rural areas. The influence of the priorities of the state employment policy on the promising parameters of the development of self-employment in the agricultural sector has been investigated. The place and role of measures to stimulate selfemployment in the system of economic regulation have been studied. The processes occurring in the characteristics of self-employment in rural areas in the context of the use of digital technologies are traced. The attitude to the prospects for the development of self-employment in the agricultural sector is expressed in the event of the realization of potential opportunities and the implementation of planned activities.
