The article discusses sectorial, regional, industrial and technological, socio-economic and national-strategic aspects of the development of food industry. Assessing the place and role of the food industry in food and food safety, the real possibilities and scientific and practical prerequisites for creating an entrepreneurial and business environment, increasing employment, innovative approaches to the formation and management of organizational and economic systems are destcrited. Studying the dynamics of development of production of the main types of food and food products in recent years, proposals and recommendations have been received on improving the economic relations field of food production.
